- To guarantee the conservation and efficient use of environment.

- To work with the remainders that we produce in the Hotel for an improvement in our operation.

- To foment the saving of energy and water, incorporating to our clients and employees how important is the mean of saving these services.

- To promote employees and visitors everything about conservation and the knowledge in sociocultural, environmental aspects.

- Inform the guests about the importance of protection of public and private conservation areas into the country.

- To foment the hiring of members of the locality to work in the hotel.

- To incorporate the microindustralists of the zone in order to expose their works in the store of souvenir.

- Offer the guests, educative and truthful information of the zone of Orosi - Cachi - Ujarrás.

- To inform and stimulate the guests to participate into the programs of tourist sustainability that is working.

- To inform that in the public and private protected wild areas is prohibited the extraction of plants and animals, reason why is penalized by the Law.

We are also proud of been part of the select group of hotels with the Certification for Sustainable Tourism



Sanchirí Hotel and Restaurant is participating in the program of the Certificate for Touristic Sustainability (CST in spanish) which is evaluated and certified by the I.C.T and the National Commission of Accreditation

 

What does the CST consists?
It is a program that tries to categorize and certificaticate tourist companies in agreement with the degree in which its operation comes near to a sustainability model. For this four fundamental scopes are evaluated:

1. Physical-Biological Surroundings It evaluates the interaction between the company and surrounding, interesting the implementation of politics and programs of sustainability, protection of environment, among others.

2. Plant on Watch Aspects related to the systems and internal processes of the company are evaluated, as far as the handling of remainders and the use of technologies for the saving of light and water.

3. The Client All the activities that the management do in order to participate the clients are evaluated. The Management should invite the client to participate in the implementation of the policies of sustainability of the company.

4. Socioeconomic Surroundings The identification and interaction of the establishment with the adjacent communities would be evalueted, analyzing for example, the degree in which the tourist companies respond to the growth and development of the region.
